Broker Candidate Courses

Courses are being offered together through a partnership of NEXUS Association of REALTORS® and Cape May County Association of REALTORS®.
All courses will be held via live webinar.

 

Broker Agency & Ethics  (30 hour)

Broker Office Management (30 hour)

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
January 12, 14, 19 & 21, 2021

Broker Core Knowledge (90 hour)

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
February 2 - March 11, 2021

REQUIREMENTS FOR BECOMING A BROKER IN NEW JERSEY:

  • You must be a licensed salesperson in New Jersey and have worked as such on a full-time basis under the direction of a broker for the 3 full years immediately preceding application. You are required to take 150 hours of broker prelicensure education. Courses may be taken in any order, but must all be completed within 1 year.
  • Upon successful completion of the courses, the applicant must submit (1) a fully executed school certificate, (2) Experience Activity Report(s) completed by the broker(s) the applicant has worked for during the last 3 years, and (3) a $25 processing fee (no personal checks accepted) to the Commission for approval. If approved, a Certificate of Examination Eligibility will be issued which will allow the applicant to make a reservation to take the broker examination. Applicants must pass the examination and apply for a license within one year of completing the second 30 hour course.
